FinelyCruising Posted August 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2004 My sentiments too. I'd like to add my strongest wishes for perserverance and safety for those in the Tampa area who will meet Charley head on.
pinkrosesdeb Posted August 13, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2004 Tampa is pretty much out of the woods. Seems Ft. Myers is getting the brunt of this storm. That is good news for us in Sarasota since the worst part of the storm is on the south east side but we are still holding our breath!
yarlenna Posted August 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2004 Yes, they evacuated many medical facilities in the Tampa Bay area to Orlando - and guess where Charley is going tonight. Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda and Charlotte Harbor got the worst of the storm - Our 24 hour news station isn't talking about anything else. We will meet Charley this evening - I really wish he wouldn't bother coming - but he looks to be on his way. This will probably be another storm whose name gets retired. TomCat32174 Posted August 13, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2004 Well living in Daytona Ormond area we will be getting hit with the eye around midnight tonight. And to think just yesterday night, it was not even supposed to get close enough for some tropical storm winds.
