Ft. Lauderdale Shuttle, Transportation question

I will be flying into Ft. Lauderdale in a couple weeks for a cruise leaving out of Port Everglades. I was wondering if I needed to book a shuttle before leaving or if there was shuttle service available at the Airport that I can book once I get there? So far I have found 14 dollar a person rides pre-booking.

Yes, just grab a cab. It's only 2.5 miles from the airport to the cruiseport. You can actually see the cruise ships from the airport. Hop in a cab, your at your cruise terminal in 5 minutes. Wait for a shuttle and that's what you'll be doing waiting and waiting and waiting for it to fill up with other passengers before you leave. No need to prebook, cabs are a dime a dozen so to speak. Cab will be less the the shuttle. ;)

We just did this last week. Caught a cab from the airport, there were 3 of us. It cost about $20. Our hotel was right across the street from the port. Rennaisance Hotel. I would recommend this hotel if anyone is staying pre or post cruise.

Does anyone know if cabs can hold 6 people?

There are 'minivan cabs' as well as Chevy Suburban cabs that can hold 6. You could even get 2 cabs if you had to, it would still be more economical then paying individually for a shuttle.
