Two Tops

My wife and I will be travelling on the Mariner in November and are REALLY looking forward to it. One thing I would really like to do is to arrange a table for two in the main dining room. Does anyone have any tips on the best ways to do this? We're booked into an OS, is this something the concierge can help with?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your TA should note on your reservation that you would like a table for two. If for some reason you do not receive this assignment, just got directly to the matre'd when you board the ship as see your assignment. There are some really nice two seat tables along the inside rails of the dining room. There can also be some bad tables.

We've booked (one is confirmed) two-tops for both upcoming cruises. We will check our table location upon boarding, and, if we are not thrilled with the location, will see the maitre d', tip, and, hopefully, get a different table assignment.

The Miracle has many two-tops, and the one's on the Grandeur appear to be on the second story at the railing, which is perfect for observing everything on the main floor.

Good luck and definitely add the request to your reservation.

After you board go to the dining room and locate your table. If it is not a 2 top - then try contacting the concierge ASAP. The Concierge could be difficult to contact since embarkation day everyone is very busy. In the afternoon, the matre d' will be availble but you will have to wait in line. Hopefully, when the matre d' sets up the seating arrangements you are given your request based on your OS category. (assuming that your TA noted this reservation request on your reservation) Enjoy your cruise!

6 of our 8 cruises we've requested a table for 2 with our reservation. Never once have we gotten on the ship and found they got our reservation correct! This is always the first thing we check on after dropping our personal belongings in our room. We've always requested a seating change and always been able to receive a table for 2 without having to tip anyone.

The key is getting their early to get the first pick!
