Snorkeling in Nassau

Has anyone done Pearl Island snorkel excursion through Carnival or any other snorkel excursion through the ship you might recommend?

YES. Pearl Island is actually good money for the boat ride over and use of the beach. The snorkelling was not good as expected as we had kids with us and you have to climb into the water with fins over these rocks. It was a nightmare! Then the water was very choppy and full of more rocks, so for a beginner who has not worn fins, I would say "Don't wear them!!! Wear water shoes instead."

 

But you can use the beach for a half hour then snorkel when everyone else has already given up. I wish I knew this!!!

Can you tell me how long you're at the beach, DH and I love to snorkel and want to spend as much time in the water as possible.
