Vancouver Questions

Recommended Posts

We will be arriving in Vancouver next Wed. afternoon before our cruise departing on Friday. We are staying at the Sutton Place Hotel. Does the hotel have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel? If not, should we get a limo or taxi and what would the approx. fare be? There are 4 adults plus luggage. We are planning to take the hop on and off Big Bus to see the city on Wed. and Thurs. What are the highlights we should not miss? Any recommendations for a nice restaurant near the hotel? WOW, we are going next week!!!!

If you go to YVR offical site and click on getting to the airport you can see your options. http://www.YVR.ca

Limo would be around $53 bucks plus tax to the airport for 4. TAxi depends on traffic and time of day of course and could be less or more.

Courtesy Shuttles from Downtown Hotels are basically nonexistent to and from the airport. It's just too far to the YVR.

We stayed at the Sutton Place a couple of weeks ago before a cruise. There is no hotel shuttle to/from the airport, but the concierge said they could provide transportation from the hotel to Canada Place Mon-Fri. Unfortunately our cruise was on Friday, so we used taxis to get to the cruise pier.

I rented a van from Avis at the airport for a 24 hour period. Parking (valet) at Sutton Place is $26 per day/overnight. There is an Avis car office a couple of blocks away on Hornby St(behind/at the Fairmont Hotel) to return the vehicle. Avis runs shuttles back & forth to Canada Place on cruise days. No extra charge involved with Avis for a different drop-off place. Used the van to visit Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

The concierge has great little pre-printed cards with driving directions to various attractions.
