silverfoxcruiser Posted June 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2007 Planning for our October Golden Princess to Mexican Riviera, one night stay before and after cruise. Flying into LAX. Is this a decent/pleasant place? TIA, Silver:cool:

cruzzingranny Posted June 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2007 We stayed ther a couple of times and the rooms are nice, clean and good size. The staff are very friendly. They have a shuttle that will take you to the port but I believe they charge $6. :( I'll have to check trip advisor to see what they say.
Desert Cruizers Posted June 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Thanks, anyway! Silver:cool: Silever, the Mexican Riviera Cruise was our inaugeration to cruising and have not stopped yet. I still consider us newbies as we have only done 3 planning on 4th year from Oct. Enjoy your cruise. Gay
silverfoxcruiser Posted June 24, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted June 24, 2007 This is our 6th, 2nd Princess. We've definitely found "our" cruise line. Have sailed with Costa, Brittanis (sic?), HAL to Alaska, NCL to Bermuda, 10 day Princess on partial Panama Canal. We do have a cruise planned on Carnival, but that's a company reunion thing, didn't have a choice of line. Really looking forward to October. Thank you for the good wishes. I think we'll probably end up at the Doubletree in San Pedro. Silver
Desert Cruizers Posted June 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Ooops came back to recheck post and noticed I mispelled your screen name, sorry about that. Since we have done 2 Princess Cruises, & 1 Royal, can't compare alot, but enjoy Princess's Wacky Pool Games, their service and everything else. Royal I feel is a level up , both good lines. bright eyes Posted June 24, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2007 I think you will be quite happy with Carnival.
silverfoxcruiser Posted June 28, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Mr. Woodman -- no offense taken with misspelling. I know you were being helpful. No interest in climbing walls and ice skating, TOO DAMN OLD! But, thank you. Bright Eyes, I know we will have a good time on Carnival -- it's a ship on the ocean, isn't it? My idea of paradise. mithryl Posted June 28, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 28, 2007 I know you've indicated that you'll probably book the Doubletree, which should be fine, but thought I'd let you know we stayed at the Holiday Inn San Pedro in February in it was really nice. We had a room that face the harbor and actually watched our ship come in the morning of sailing. For next year, we've booked the Crowne Plaza which I think is as close as you can get to the Cruise Terminal. Where ever you end up staying on land...enjoy your cruise! Like you said...it's a ship on the ocean...can't get much better than that!
