Let's Design the ULTIMATE Carnival Ship

Recommended Posts

I vote for escalators as well. That would be great.

Children security. The whole "adults only" thing is a bit much. But I think they should start ticketing these little brats who feel the need to run up and down the halls and their parents should be ticketed as well. I'll bet they'll discipline their kids better.

24 hour buffet, I like that idea.

FREE internet and in the cabins as well

I agree with the folks that believe that Carnival needs a ship in the NYC area year around. I even believe that Carnival needs to do a Western Caribbean iteniary during the summer. There is not one ship going in that area during the summer time. Carnival could really do well with something like that.

I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but we leave out of Galveston Monday for a 5 day cruise on the Carnival Ecstacy to Cozumel and Progreso. Is that not Western Caribbean?

And I believe it runs that same route all summer.

It seems that no matter what someones opinion is, there is someone that thinks, WHAT?

You want an escator, I want the exercise of walking to places.

You think it is over board (no pun intended) to have adult only. I don't want some childs' bathroom to be my pool or hot tub.

I think there should be kid and adult areas and both for families. I would like to not worry about being knocked over by a running child around a pool. And I think a child would love to be able to run without a grump like me saying slow down before you knock me down. LOL

IMHO

Were my suggestions just so over the top you felt the need to dissect them:rolleyes:

They HAVE elevators. Why not an escalators. I don't mind walking either but instead of having to wait for an elevator for THOSE who like the elevators.

So you walk the entire time....no matter what:rolleyes:

I wasn't trying to be mean. I thought it was funny that we all have even opposite ideas. Sorry if I offended you. I won't do that again. I guess it isn't funny if both parties don't take it that way.

I have seen a few I agree with

free interweb

zero entry pools

lazy river, but make it cruise by an area you can slide in and get a drink

Paint ball fields would be ok, but its a rough sport. It would also have to be contained b/c I could see the fiasco with balls flying over board, and the enviromentalists having a cow.

I have never been on a carnival ship so didn't know about the pool ladder.I will not be getting in the pool. I can't imagine myself trying to get out.

I love the idea of a door for the shower.

The only ship I have been on, I was 2 floors away from everything so I didn't think about climbing so many stairs because I only had to do 2 sets for everything. I only used the elevator on HAL on the outside to see the scenery. I apologize for the escalator comment because if I have more floors to go this time, I will welcome that escalator. I was not thinking about that possibilities when I made my comment. I will try to engage my brain before my mouth from now on.

Shower doors!!!! That cheap curtain sticking to you the whole time is annoying.

Know they can afford a shower that you step into and close the door

Yeah, that can be annoying. In the meantime, have you tried weighing it down with clothespins or binder clips? That's what we do. Works well.

I'm sorry for getting offended

That's ok. I am having a fairly bad day so I understand. I have a tendency to open mouth and insert foot. Just ignore me OK. If I knew how to do the little faces, you would probably see quite a few in this note.

Embarassed, and a big smile now that this is over.

Since I have never been on a cruise YET I would think maybe a wave pool, or a fishing deck off the back.

YES!!!! A fishing deck off the back! Great idea! Only problem is you'd hafta be anchored up. I doubt the Capt. would stop the ship if you hooked a marlin while underway!

Can you imagine if the ship was moving and you hooked a fish going 25 knots? The person would have to be tied down. It would be one heck of a fish story. I would like to fish off the back in port though.

I was going to make a list of all suggestions but have written one page for the first page of this thread. I think we could all make a pretty good ship. I don't think I willl do it. There seem to be more suggestions coming in.

The cruise line could have an area at water level with sea doos for rent. I know that is silly but I know teen agers would love it.

The river sounds great. I have always seen them and wanted to try it but never have. It looks so relaxing.

I would like them to have Diet Rite to drink too. It has Splenda instead of aspertane (it fries my brain). Maybe they could put coke and pepsi machines near the pools (fasten down well). That way they would get the money but they would be cold and not have the servers getting them for us.

I would love the seafood buffet too.

I think this ship is getting too big for it's britches and they would have to double the cost for all the amenities. LOL

I would love an outdoor walking promenade that goes all the way around the ship -- and that still has places for chairs or lounges in the shade, as the areas off the lobby do now.

I would absolutely love classes -- especially about the ports, but other things as well. Maybe photography classes, or watercolor.

I love the idea someone posted about having a not-smoky path from the front to the back of each public deck. I hate having to go through the smoky casino or cigar bar to get from dinner to a show. A few more non-smoking bars would be nice too. I always hear CC folks talking about the fun htey have in the piano bar, but I have never been able to tolerate the smoke long enough to find out if I might agree. Non-smoking nights in certain areas would be a big help to those of us who can't tolerate the smoke.

I really would appreciate a sound system in the theatre that doen't have to be so loud that it a) distorts the sound, and b) can harm your ears. My guess is that there are too few speakers, so they blast the heck out of them in order to get sound to the entire room.

I'm so addicted to Carnival Cruise Ship tycoon!

I just wish it had more options for building the ship itself, not just designing the interior etc.

But it's a blast just the same.

I do think that if given 1 choice for a new Carnival ship, I'd just want a 24 hour HUGE Disco. Maybe even fake (or real) go-go cages would be a great addition to the Disco!

For those of you asking for longer cruises, there is a petition you might want to sign. It's a petition to Carnival to bring a ship to NYC in 2009 for a 12 night holiday cruise. Here's the link to the petition:

http://www.petitiononline.com/12232009/petition.html

And here's a link to the thread:

Also keep your eyes peeled, another petition specifically for longer cruises in general from Carnival is in the works!
