We were staying downtown on Burrard and Robson and a cab was about $35 US

The YVR website says $23 - 26 under "normal conditions".

 

Traffic is anything but normal these days with a lot of construction and Cambie Street largely unusable due to building the new transit line.

 

I'd count on $30+.

I will be going to Vancouver in Sept so I have been trying to do my homework. I bought this amazing book "Frommer's Vancouver & Victoria 2007", it is awesome with all the info you will probably need. In the book it give a website "www.limojetgold.com" and says you can take a strecth limo for up to 6 persons from Vancouver airport to downtown for approx $45 plus 6% GST (Goods & Service Tax) per trip not per person. I like the idea of the personalized service especially when it is split up between 6 people. Hope you have a nice trip.

We took Limo jet gold and they were awesome. no waiting and they fit 7 people and the 6 person limo plus all the bags.
