rheasue38 Posted June 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Hi! Anyone interested in meeting at 4:00 at the pool on embarkation day, July 2nd? Rhea
Benita Posted June 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Michael and I will see you there - assuming they let those of us in steerage on the ship by then (just kidding). You can recognize us by the big smiles on our faces.

merryecho Posted June 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2007 If I can get my son in law out of the Athens museums we will be there too- Sue, Lew, Rich and Vicky from Portland- sitting or standing at the bar. Great idea, Reahsue.
merryecho Posted June 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2007 I wonder if they convinced anyone to take a later cruise? I thought their compensation offer was very generous, but not nearly enough to make me miss this trip.
Lane40 Posted June 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2007 I read on another site that there was an Oceania cruise that was overbooked and passengers were being bumped with little compensation until Mr. Del Rio stepped in. Is this the cruise that I read about?
Benita Posted June 24, 2007 #7 Share Posted June 24, 2007 No, that cruise was last year. Apparently, a customer service agent was quite forceful in bumping people and not giving them the option of refusal. Mr. Del Rio stepped in and the people were reinstated (don't know where they found the extra cabins - I supposed they just kept upping the offer until somebody took it). My travel agent called last week with an offer - I didn't even wait to hear it, before turning it down. We booked this trip over a year ago and used points for business class tickets to get there, so no offer would have been worth it. I suspose, if Oceania was providing the airline tickets and the offer was attractive enough, somebody would take it, especially if their schedules permitted quick changes of vacation. This would be a tough one to reschedule for anyone, as they are only offering it twice this year and I believe both are fully booked (or overbooked, as ours was).
