ronjj66611 Posted June 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2007 We've booked an FO room on the Panorama deck aboard the Galaxy for this August. Having looked at the layout of the ship, I'm kind of nervous about the potential for noise and vibrations. It appears as though we're sandwiched between the Savoy nightclub directly below us and the Shipmates Fun Factory above us. Then add the noise and vibrations experienced at the aft of the ship and it could be very unpleasant. Has anybody stayed in one of these rooms who can tell me if the noise from the Savoy and the Fun Factory will be a problem? There are still balcony rooms available on our sailing, but I would rather not have to spend the extra $$$ if I don't have to, on the other hand, I would like to be able to sleep w/out hearing the music all night long. Thanks for any info you can provide. Happy Sailings, Ron

Happy Sailings, Ron Well I can't comment as though I have ever sailed on this ship, but our room is on the same floor with the Fun Factory and we are also at the back of the ship. When I asked about this, they told me that you had to go though a special hallway to get to the funzone, and that they don't get that many kids on thier ships due the type of people they market towards. With that in mind, at least in regard from above, you shouldn't be bothered. Could just be a sales pitch, but I went ahead and booked anyway. Hope this helps
ronjj66611 Posted June 22, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Thanks ispeed for the info, although I'm not sure if it will be the same conditions. You see, we're one deck below the fun factory and one deck above the nightclub. ispeed Posted June 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2007 I think I remember reading on these forums a couple of days ago about the noise from the nightclub, but I can't remember what search string I used. From what I remember, people said it wasn't bad. I checked the funzone on the celebrity site and it looks like it just has limited hours so I don't think it will wake you or keep you awake. That just leaves the main question being the nightclub. Goodluck either way. I will be on my cruise the month before you, so I will see what I can find out and try to report back to you. ronjj66611 Posted June 24, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Thanks Ispeed. Hopefully your right and it won't be a problem. Anybody else ever stay in one of these rooms?
chessbriar Posted June 24, 2007 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Stayed in those rooms and the only noise problems we experienced were from the engines. The noise and vibrations when the ship comes to port or leaves, shakes the whole cabin. Expect to be stired from your sleep about 2 hours before docking.
