the teacher Posted June 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2007 We will be in Quebec City in October for three day. Was wondering if anyone has done a day trip to Baie St-Paul. If so how did you get there and is it something to see. Also would like to see Montmorency Falls. Thank you for any information you could give me. Ephraim Posted June 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Baie St Paul is known for it's vistas and it's artists. I'm actually surprised to hear someone who's interested in it. Most famous for Marc-Aurele Fortin and the Group of Seven. My guess is that unless you have a car, there is little other way to get there. The city's website is at http://www.baiestpaul.com Unfortunately none of their website is available in English. Try using Google's Language tools for their site at http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.baiestpaul.com%2Faccueil.php&langpair=fr%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools
the teacher Posted June 25, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Ephraim thank you for your reply. We had some friends that were there last year and really loved the area. Do you feel it is worth the time to explore. I have heard it is an artist town, which I like. Thanks for any information. We will be Quebec City for three days. :)
Ephraim Posted June 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2007 It is an artist colony and as all of Quebec, it's picturesque. It always depends on what you want to do. A few years ago we drove from Montreal to spend a few days in Charlevoix, around La Malbaie. Then out to Baie Ste-Catherine/Tadoussac to see the whales and the fjords and then onward. It's all beautiful territory. But I'm certainly not an expert on it. The website for the region would be http://www.tourisme-charlevoix.com or check out http://www.quebecweb.com/tourisme/charlevoix/introang.html
