katebaby2 Posted June 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2007 I have twins with cochlear implants that need charging each night. I have read something about plug-in alarm clocks not keeping good time because of fluctuations in ship electricity. These deveices are crucial to the boys hearing each day and are very expensive and not easily replaced. Does anyone have any thoughts on what my experience might be on the Sovereign of the Seas? Can I bring a power strip? Thanks in advance! -Katebaby2
VikkiGarcia Posted June 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2007 I would be a bit concerned about the room plugs. We always bring a power strip but the power to the cabin plugs (on 4 different ships) is a bit iffy. We charge our camcorder batteries and some mornings they would be fully charged other mornings only half. Does it take a good amount of power to juice them up each night? The ship should be able to find a place for you that has a consistant and safe power source. My guess would be where THEY plug in very expensive equipment. katebaby2 Posted June 25, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Thanks for your response. Yes, it takes all night at home (about 6 hours) to power up 4 batteries, plus we have 2 dryers that run all night too. thanks for the suggestion about asking where we can get a consistant source of power! I appreciate your response! -Katebaby2 -
