Jules4AU Posted June 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2007 We've got 27 people cruising with us for our wedding cruise on the Enchantment next Thursday (the 28th). We're not getting married until Friday, so we want to greet our guests as they get on board Thursday afternoon. We've never been on this boat before...any suggestions? Is there a bar at the pool or would that be too crowded? Are the Schooner Bar and the Viking Crown Lounge open during the boarding process, and if so, are they crowded? Would kids be allowed in those bars during the day? How about timing? I know people will probably go to the Windjammer Cafe for lunch if they get on early. If we say we'll be at whatever location from 3:00 until the muster drill will that give us time to have a few drinks and say hi to everyone? (What time is the muster drill, approximately?) Thanks, Pat & Julie
PH8 Posted June 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2007 If you want to be outdoors, the pool bar is always a great place to meet............if you rather be indoors, the Schooner Bar will be open....(not sure if the Viking Crown is open at that time).yes, kids are allowed in the VKC and the Schooner Bar anytime........but maybe with kids, the pool bar is better........they can play in the water and not be bored inside at a bar....... Congrats on the wedding......the EN is a really nice ship. Are you getting married on the ship or in key west? OOPs.forgot.Muster drill is at 4:15 ish........Lunch in the WJ starts at noon...... Thanks, Pat & Julie The Spotlight lounge is right behind the Schooner, with lots of comfortable seating. I don't know if the bar is open when there's no entertainment going on though. 27 people may not be able to mingle in the Schooner, because it's narrow. Nice idea getting married on Enchantment. It's a great ship.
Jules4AU Posted June 24, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Thanks for the suggestions...we're leaning towards the pool, too...just thought it might be too crowded. We're getting married in Key West at the Rooftop Cafe. We have quite a few non-sailing guests, too. As far as 27 people mingling, that's not so important...we think a lot of people are going to be anxious to go exploring the ship, mostly we just want some place where we can greet everyone and give them the goodie bags we've prepared for them--or at least tell them we have one to give them later if our luggage isn't in our room yet. If they want to hang out, cool, if not we'll catch up with them at dinner.
PH8 Posted June 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2007 The pool area wont be THAT crowded.......people will be roaming around the ship checking it out.........they will come back at sailaway(5pm)....besides the pool area is pretty big so you wont feel congested at that time.........its on the same deck as the WJ so they can stroll over after eating.....You might tell them a little earlier han 3.........have to allow time to get back to your cabins for your lifevests and then back to the muster stations by 4:15........the stairways get really crowded right before and again after muster drill............
