Miami Port questions?

I think we are staying at the Courtyard Hotel close the the Bayside market, at least only a few blocks away. I was wondering:

 

Are there some stores close by to grab some drinks to bring on board?

What is the hotels area like? (will we want to walk to Bayside? or shuttle?

How is the hotel?

Not a store, per se, but there is a small shop right across the street from the Courtyard. We pick up beer/pop for the cruise here.

 

You can walk to Bayside from this location, but only do it during the day.

 

Hotel is just fine. We stayed here and took a cab to the Port of Miami (passing on the free shuttle, which seemed to fill rather quickly).

Definitely don't try walking to Bayside at night!
