are sneakers required for kids in AO?

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if my kids can wear flip-flops to Adventure Ocean or do they need a closed toe shoe? I'm trying to cut down on packing too much stuff. Thanks

Flops are fine, my kids wore them all week. We returned last Saturday from LOS

In age groups 11 and under, when the kids are in the actual AO area, they will be made to remove their shoes anyway. So if you send them in flip flops, they will be running around bare foot. There is a matted foam on most of the floor, just thought you might want to know.

Depending on the age group and the ship, they will have some activities in the basketball court area such as dodgeball that would be better suited for sneakers. Otherwise, for regular progam in the AO, flip-flops are better.

Twice on LOS, DD was required to wear Sneakers when she went to AO. Both times it was because they were going to the Sports Deck. Other than that, she wore flip flops and removed them when she got there.

DD was 3.5 on FOS. She removed her shoes when she entered and only put them on when they had dinner at JRs.

My kids always wore sandals/flip flops and then once they got there they took them off. They still played "ga ga ball", I think that is what it was called..it was dodgeball. Anyway they are 6 & 7.

They make them take their shoes off when they get there. At least they did earlier this month in the 7 and 9 year old groups on Liberty. My kids wore crocs so it was easy on and off!
