another interesting article. You can't patent a name. You can copyright it or trademark it but you can't patent it. Patenting requires a process or product. You can't copyright a common name(diamond).... however you may be able to trademark "Diamond International". I never accept as gospel what the port consultant says. Most of the time(there are exceptions) they know less than my wife does about a port. She does great research...
