Barcelona T10 ticket

My understanding is that a T10 ticket for the subway in Barcelona can be shared. My question is for my family of 4. Do we pass the ticket through the machine 4 times and walk through together, or do we each walk through after each time we swipe the ticket through the machine? What is the cost of a T10 ticket? I'm just trying to understand now so I don't mess up when we are there!!

you walk through individually,swiping each time, handing the ticket back,until all 4 have passed thro,,tcket less 4 journeys,and so on.
