DKMDE Posted July 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2007 I was cruising on the NCL Jewel on the same dates and saw you guys in Miami, San Juan, and St. Thomas. I noticed two guys with motorcycles boarding the ship in every port. Does anyone know what that was about?
Rare skyking Posted July 2, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 2, 2007 Probably the Captain and another high ranking officer onboard. I know Captain Johnny also has a full size Harley onboard with him. Or atleast he used to.

#1BradyFan Posted July 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2007 I know someone who has a motorcycle and she told me that certain ships allow you to take your motorcyles on board- she told me it was great- they were always the 1st ones off at all the ports and they were able to tour the islands on their own..... I know it was Royal Caribbean- but I am not sure which ship. I thought it was pretty cool....even though I do not have a bike!!

zotzer Posted July 2, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2007 There is a travel agency that specializes in cruises in which you can bring your own motorcycle. Overall, compared to the total passengers on the ship, it is a tiny group....not a theme cruise at all. I got to tag along on a ride through the San Juan rainforest on the June 8th Explorer cruise. Great group of people...both the organizers and those in the motorcycle group. 16 bikes and around 25 people on that trip, if I am remembering correctly. The travel agency's link: http://www.cruise-eta.com/motorcyclecruise.htm T

One problem, don't have a motorcycle anymore and my 2 DD won't let me get one either.
zotzer Posted July 2, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 2, 2007 I would love to bring a motorcycle!! See the island....on my time riding along. The group was escorted and travelled together in every port. They didn't just venture out on their own. Makes sense to keep them all together from a logistics and security perspective. It is a big deal, as they have to drain most of the fuel out before bringing them back on the ship, and re-fuel when they ride off. T

CruiseKeeper Posted July 3, 2007 #12 Share Posted July 3, 2007 On 5/11 Explorer, we had such a group of motorcyclists. Except for when you saw them boarding, you never knew their was a group of them aboard. :)
