St. Thomas-Water Island?

I posted this on the port of call boards also, but I know that not everyone goes there, so... We are thinking about going to Water Island when we go to St. Thomas on our next cruise and wanted feedback from someone who has been there. We have been to St. John many times and looking for something different.

Water Island is pretty small--less than 500 acres--and has not been commercialized. It would be a nice place to go for a VERY secluded beach.

The ferry goes there--probably for just a few $$.

I was there in July. Honeymoon beach was beautiful! I talked with some of the year round residents, and it sounds like a great place to spend a week ( or more!). Go to water-island.com for some great pictures.

Thanks for the reply. I have gathered the ferry info and it is only a 10 minute ride over. Have you been to water island? I know that there are no car rentals or taxi's so we would just walk to honeymoon beach which seems to be the only beach within (short) walking distance of the ferry. I am hoping to get some input from someone who has been to the beach there.
