Which Serenade balcony cabin would you pick?

Recommended Posts

I am looking at a Serenade Alaskan cruise and need help figuring out which cabin to book. I definitely want a balcony and I'm trying for either hump or aft. Out of the following cabins, which would you pick and why?

7094 (E1 hump next to glass elevator w/larger balcony)

7172 (D1 aft)

7174 (D1 aft)

7176 (D1 aft)

7676 (D1 aft)

7674 (D1 aft)

8172 (D1 aft)

8672 (D1 aft)

8670 (D1 aft)

Here is the link to the RCI deck plans to help you see which ones they are: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/ship/decks/deck/home.do?deckCode=08&shipCode=SR&shipProfile=1066&sailDate=1070714&hasNavigation=false

I wanted to add that I know that 7094 has a slight overhang underneath it from the lifeboats but I've seen the pictures & it's not bad enough to bother me. I don't know if there are any weird quirks about the deck 7 aft cabins or the deck 8 aft cabins. I need to make this decision fairly quickly, before the "best" ones are gone. Thanks!

One last thing to add: On the hump cabins that have the larger balconies, is it more preferable to be on the forward side of the hump or the aft side of the hump? Does it make a difference that it's an Alaskan cruise?

Hi Jane,

It's Janet (not Bob) from the Mariner thread.

I just composed a reply and it went into cyberspace so hopefully this won't be a double post.

We are booked on the 7/12/08 Serenade to Alaska with stateroom 8088. We decided on this one since our 2 grandkids can still fit/sleep in the pull down beds. We have been in stateroom 8102 (other side of elevator) to check it out prior to booking Alaska. The balcony was very large (2 chairs, 2 loungers, 1 table) and provided both sun and shade.

If it were just Bob and myself, it would be an aft room--any aft will do. We have had the coveted 9256 on the Radiance and have 9260 and 7676 booked on future cruises.

Janet
