eki Posted July 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Hi! Thanks again for all the help on these boards! It's been fantastic! We are planning on taking both a carseat (a sit-and-stroll) and an umbrella stroller on our trip. (We're flying out of NY, so I want the carseat for the ride from the airport. The umbrella stroller is much easier to use around the ship, etc.) We are not getting a seat on the plane for my DS. I know that you can gate check the stroller, but can I gate check both the umbrella stroller and the car seat? Do I need to check one of the items? If so, which one? Thanks again!! azbaby8062 Posted July 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2007 My son has been flying since he was less than three months. I typically checked the car seat at the baggage area because I did not want to lug that thing around. However, I have seen plenty of people check both the car seat and the stroller. It is typically waiting for you when you exit the plan. I had one time when everyone was gone and the pilot was getting ready to leave and I was still waiting for the stroller. He actually went in the belly of the plane and found it in the back. :) Turned out the little tag had fallen off the stroller.
crusinmama06 Posted July 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2007 Yep you can gate check both. I have done that as well. :)
lexxity Posted July 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2007 How old is DS? Is he in a forward facing carseat? If so it might be worth asking if there is a free seat that you could use your car seat in. A strapped in child is soooooooo much easier to deal with in an enclosed space like an aircraft cabin. I know that only too well!:o :o
