Mr. Baloo Posted July 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2007 OK, I am not a smuggler, that said, I would drink my cruise away. That said, I would like to take advantage of some good drink specials to take the edge off.... any suggestions? Also, what is your fav drink....??? See you onboard the Valor this Sunday!!!!!!!!! Knights on the Beach Posted July 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I think the frozen drinks are a better buy than the drink of the day. The DOD is premixed, so you will get more bang for your buck if the bartender makes a drink from scratch. It also helps if you go to the same bartender(s) most of the time. We really enjoyed sitting at the lobby bar in the atrium on our last two cruises -- my drinks got progressively stronger as the week went on. The rum runners were really good! The flavored martini specials are a pretty good deal, too!
mustwork2cruise Posted July 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2007 My favorite is either a Miami Vice (Strawberry Daquiri & Pina Colada Swirled) and a FUNSHIP SPECIAL!!

sallyb Posted July 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I love the DOD but try to catch the Bloody Mary specials for hair of the dog. Get a favorite bartender or two early on, give a little extra tip, and you are set.;)

benicehavefun Posted July 12, 2007 #16 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I promise you, all those votes for the "Fun Ship" are right on target. It has a shot each of Ameretto, Rum, Vodka, Apricot Brandy and "some juice". They are it!!!! But don't drink too many at one time. And DON'T drink em sittin down, cuz you get up, and, WHOOPSIE!!!!!!!:D
auntdodaa Posted July 14, 2007 #17 Share Posted July 14, 2007 A Dirty Banana has Kahlua, creme of banana, rum, and cocconut in it. (I think this is the recipe that Carnival uses). Anyway it tastes like a bananna split (sort of) with a kick.
Chan_T Posted July 14, 2007 #18 Share Posted July 14, 2007 Let's see....it depends on the time of day :D During the day, it would likely be frozen or mixed drinks. During dinner, it would likely be a glass of wine. After dinner (at shows or in lounges), it would likely be a martini (made with Grey Goose, Belvedere, or Chopin - not sure they offer Chopin vodka though). Peto Posted July 14, 2007 #20 Share Posted July 14, 2007 .BLOODY MARY!! I am a Bloody Mary fanatic. Here is what I did. Smuggled on a bottle of Vodka, collected Wisteshire (sp) from the dinning room, limes, pepper, olives and tobasco from the red sail buffet and ordered 3 tomato juices every morning for breakfast. viola ;) I don't drink a lot, but I do drink well! modnar Posted July 14, 2007 #22 Share Posted July 14, 2007 As far as Drinks of the Day go, my favorite is Yellowbird, especially if you can go to a bar where they mix it from scratch, shaker and all.

anneep Posted July 14, 2007 #24 Share Posted July 14, 2007 How much do the mixed drinks and DOD cost?
Knights on the Beach Posted July 15, 2007 #25 Share Posted July 15, 2007 The DOD is $6.95 in a souvenir cup ($5.95 for a refill) or $3.75 in a regular (small) glass. The frozen drinks are $5.25. Some mornings they have Bloody Mary, Screwdriver and Mimosa specials for $3.95 at specific bars (usually the lobby bar and pool bars).
