3 days in Bermuda is the best part of these cruises if you ask me...but that's because to me, going to Bermuda is all about...well, going to Bermuda!

The Dawn docks at the Dockyard, which isn't the best location, but there are many shops, craft markets, a few pubs, the dolphin swim, Maritime museum, the Snorkel Park, etc. all right there.

A bus pass give you access to the busses and Ferries. The ferries will take you from Dockyard to both St. George and Hamilton. There is so much to see and do!

No, you can't shop on the ship or go to the casino while in port, but I can't imagine not having a wonderful time on this beautiful island!

The 3 1/2 days in Bermuda is great. You really get to explore the island and not have to rush back to the ship. Bermuda has beautiful beaches and much more. The casino and ship stores will be closed as always when in port, but there's plenty of shopping in Bermuda.

We really enjoyed our cruise on the Majesty.:D

On the larger ships three day stay next year, the ships take one and a half days to get to Bermuda and two days to return to NYC. The Majesty this year it takes one and a half days goihg and coming back to Boston. So with the larger ships its one sea day to and two sea days back. Which means there is less shore time, but it is still more than a day we get at most ports.

It's really funny that we enjoyed the 3 1/2 days in Bermuda so much, since we both prefer sea days over port days. I think a lot of the reason is that you don't have to rush around when you're in port in Bermuda. Port days are usually to short to see much of most places, at least for us.

We just booked the Dawn to Bermuda for the 6/15 sailing next year. The link to our roll call is in my signature. We've been to Bermuda 2 times so far and can't think of a better way to see it again. One day is just NOT enough! And, as a previous poster said, the shops and casino are not open. And, I believe there won't be as many shows, either. BUT, there will be some awesome pool-side parties going on!

And, there is soooooo much to do and see on that beautiful island. If we could afford it, we'd move there. We LOVE Bermuda!

Happy Sailing! :D

It's been awhile since we were in Bermuda(8/99) but cruising is the best way to go to see Bermuda. It's very expensive so you can always go back on the ship to have your meals(which is what we did).We want to go back but did not like the Crown and we've been on the Dawn already. Since the island is so small you can see everything and not be rushed about it. We also didn't go on any excursions-wanted to do our own thing. Royal Dockyard was OK for us. We absolutely loved Horseshoe Bay(beach):D !!! Spent 2 afternoons there. The Crown was docked in Hamilton and St. George. St. George was laid back (back then)-Now I don't know. We also rented a moped but would never do that now since they drive on "the other side."

Hi,

Am also thinking of the Dawn for next summer. This summer we did the Freedom of the Seas, Royal. How will my 12 year old very active son like NCL Dawn? Do they have many activities for kids that age? Sure he will enjoy Bermuda with us, but what about nightime for him and us? Thanks
