evolutiondob Posted July 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2007 I'm trying to get a bearing as to how far apart things are. I was planning on staying at the Water Club in Isle Verde because I thought it would be close to shopping, night life and Old San Juan. In looking at some of the maps I'm really not getting an idea of how far apart things are. Can someone please tell me about where this hotel is located with respect to Old San Juan and some of the hotels with casinos in them? I'm trying to figure out if this actually the best location or if should try for another hotel. Thank you.
orquidia Posted July 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2007 It is definitely not walking distance, about 15-20 /+ minutes from the historic district (old san juan) by car depending on the traffic. close casinos you have el san juan hotel and the ritz carlton, both walking distance. also nightlife you have el san juan hotel discoteque and lobby bar and some pubs around that area (oyster bar, monihan's irish pub). about shopping , well ...what kind of shopping are you looking for? evolutiondob Posted July 20, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted July 20, 2007 Shops with unique local clothing, artifacts, jewlry, art. Not the typical type of stores - primarily Puerto Rican influenced items. I like small, boutique stores with interesting items. Also, any idea how much a cab ride would cost into San Juan from the Isle Verde area?
