Drydock Schedule???

I hope Jewel is done by the 30th as we will be there to board and bring her back! Are they doing anything other than adding the diesel engine? Does anyone know?

 

I am hoping Albert Ross comes back and tells us where he got the newest schedule. The Jewel if different by one day on his newer one. ?

Don't worry - the Southampton website shows Jewel docking at 7a on the morning of the 30th

Hi Alexis: We are on the Jewel 10/30 w/ Barb (Hi Barb) and MANY others on CC!!! According to our many 'sources' the Jewel will sail out of dry dock on 10/29 traveling to Southampton for the beginning of our TA. This dry dock was always scheduled to conclude w/ our sailing on 10/30. Not sure where the 10/29 date came from, but this 10/30 sailing has been set since the original Boston to Ft Lauderdale cruise (Great Jewel Heist) was canceled about 16 or 17 months ago. To date, from everything we are able to ascertain, all appears to being going as scheduled.

I knew you all sailed on the 30th, that is why I posted she was finished Drydock on the 29th. ;)

My nephew is currently working ON the Jewel. Their dry dock ends on the 29th of October. He mentioned that they're currently doing something with the hot water....it won't be back on until Monday or Tuesday. He's one of the back stage folks in the theater (who knew they had to that much paperwork!)......He said they're replacing light bulbs and cleaning the lighting.

I do understand the confusion!!! ;) It would appear that the most recent info is showing the end of the "open dates" in the schedule as opposed to the "actual" dates the ship is literally in dry dock!!!

 

We have 'several' sources we are periodically checking to try to learn what is happening.

 

BTW and this is probably more rumor than fact, but thought I had heard or seen that Monarch was going in for a "short" dry dock prior to beginning to sail out of PC. Not 100% on that!!!

=;12562140]Don't know if it was posted already but I just found out that the Navigator goes into dry dock/retro fit in 2009/2010.

 

Makes sense: with the Independence going to Port Everglades in Nov 2008 followed by the Genesis in 2009 and the Creation in 2010 and a likely repo of the Navigator, a retro fit is just what the doctor ordered.

Thank you. This gives me a chance to bring up the Dry Dock schedule.

I am thinking that maybe Legend is doing a short drydock in April 2009. I have the 4/26/09 booked which starts in Hong Kong and the only 1 before I can find is 4/13/09 which ends 4/18/09 in Tokyo. Unless it has been chartered? Anyone else have any info on this? Thanks.

I was on the Sovereign in April. Her last drydock was in 2004. You could see that she needs a little make up or cosmetic surgery. :D

 

And the Monarch had a dry dock a year earlier? Will be interesting to see what awaits me. :p

I used to post that statement with the DryDock schedule so that CC's would be aware of sudden dates that were different.

The Explorer is still booked for an:

8 night Eastern

12 night Southern

9 night Eastern

all in the month of November 2008.

 

If anyone got a cruise cancel, we would hear about it on the boards. ;)
