How far is boiling lake

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me how far boiling lake is from the pier? Once you get there do you have to hike as well, etc.

I just read this on BoilingLake and upon reading,"We did the 15-mile, 8-hour hike to Boiling Lake with a group of about ten." I STOPPED.
