JohnEZ Posted July 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2007 I was recently reading over http://www.cunardguidelines.com for whatever reason--it's their marketing site. Anyway, I stumbled across a sentence in their disclaimer: "The Cunard fleet is currently registered in Great Britain." (http://www.cunardguidelines.com/general/acronyms.asp?pnav=general&snav=acronyms) I know it may not seem like a big deal, but it worries me a bit that they note it's currently registered in Great Britain. To me, there's no need to include a "currently"--unless they think of changing that. Which, of course, worries me a bit. Am I reading too much into this, or is this a distinct possibility? dougnewmanatsea Posted July 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2007 Am I reading too much into this Yes. The "currently" is just verbosity on the part of the marketing types, who often thing that the longer something is, the better it sounds ;) . If anything it may refer to the fact that up until Carnival came in, only QE2 was British-registered, and the other Cunard ships were flagged out to the Bahamas.
