hac_1234 Posted July 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2007 hi everyone, this is my first cruise with my kids(6 & 4). I booked an extended balcony rm 8185. I just read a post somewhere that made me worry a little about the balconies. Are they somewhat Kid - safe as far as height and spacing between the bars? I've had a balcony before but its been a while. Also any advice in general about family cruising? thanks
crusinmama06 Posted July 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 29, 2007 Balconies are generally safe as long as you make some common sense rules. Like in our family it's "NO kids on the balcony without a parent...period" Some parents like to move the chairs away from the edges so the kids don't take a second to jump up and look over. And there is a whole post on parent's opinions on balconies here... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=579263 BUT with that being said....I am NOT familiar with the Miracle extended balconies. Is that like an aft balcony at the back of the ship? Those are often designed VERY differently and may just be rails with spaces far apart with no glass. Maybe you can post on the Carnival board and ask for a picture of THAT balcony?
