San Juan Taxi Cost????

Hi, Can anyone tell me what the cost of a taxi would be for 2 people from the Airport to the Embassy Suites Hotel in Isle Verde and from The Pan Am Pier to the airport for 2, We will have about 5 pieces of luggage.......... Thanks

Check the hotel's website...I was there today and I believe they give taxi fares to their place.

It's approximately $16 from the Airport to the hotels and from hotels to the pier from what I've read....

The airpost is actually in Isla verde.....so the taxi to the hotel from the airport might not be as much.

From what I have read it is $8 from the airport to Isla Verde and $16 from Isla Verde to the pier. I'd like to know if that fare is per person or for the entire cab? We will have 4 people with lots of luggage and would like to know for sure.

The Embassy Suites hotel is 1/2 mi from the airport and a 5 min. ride from what they say....... About $16 + tip is what i thought , But sounds a Bit high for a 1/2 mi away...... Trvlr37 makes a good point.......anyone else stayed in the Isle Verde area and have info?

Has anyone Stayed at the Embassy Suites hotel in the Isle Verde area on Tartak Street and know if there is a store within walking distance to get soda, And a liquor store also????

The taxis are regulated so the price will be standard. They do charge .50 per bag as well. The whole thing should be around 20.00 plus tip.

Thanks to everyone for the info. This makes taking cabs much less expensive than renting a car - especially since I found out our car insurance doesn't cover us outside the continental US!

Embassy suite is 5 minutes from the airport and you will know that when you are in your room and hear the planes landing:D . the cost of the taxi is regulated and is about $10 + $1 to $2 per each luggage. Then you will pay about $16 + luggage to go to the PamAm pier. If you are planing to visit old San Juan after checking into the hotel then you are talking about another $18 each way in a taxi. You can also rent from Hertz at the airport and drop it off at the Caribe Hilton. Caribe hilton is a few blocks from the PamAm pier and hertz has an office there(just be aware it is close for lunch noon-1pm every day including sundays) . You will need to take a taxi from the hilton to the PamAm Pier but that will probably be only $5 or so.

 

There are a lot of stores a few blocks from the Embassy Suite in the main avenue of Isla Verde. Walgreen is about 6 to 7 blocks from Embassy Suites.

are there any other rental car companies that have offices very near to the pier or is hertz the closest one?

do all RCCL ships dock at the pan am pier? we are on the AOS, and are spending a couple days in PR before our cruise next june, since my husband was born in MAyaguez, so a rental car seems the best option for us.
