Experiences cruising Puerto Rico area in December

We are contemplating a late December cruise out of Puerto Rico and have never cruised this time of the year. Would appreciate any comments concerning cruising in this area during this time. Thanks

We did a Crown Princess Christmas cruise last year (12/23 - 12/30) out of San Juan. If you're asking about the weather or roughness of the seas, it was moderately rocky departing San Juan, and the seas from Aruba back up to San Juan at the end of the cruise were between 12 and 18 feet which made for a somewhat bumpy ride. It was less rough than the Eastern Caribbean cruise I took in March '05. The weather was totally fantastic! (this was a southern Caribbean cruise.)

We did a Southern cruise in Dec 2005, A x-mas one. Had a great time.

We now plan all our Carib. cruises for Late Nov. or early Dec. Good rates not to many Kids running around. Have done three (3) so far and will be doing one this Nov. 25 on the Destiny Had a light rain on all the cruises which lasted about 10 to 20 minutes total per cruise and only once did we have rought waters and it was one night only.(most slept thru it).

Well.....as you can see by my signature we have pretty much done our cruising in November. Usually book in March or so..... have everything paid for by the time the cruise comes around. Less kids, great weather (for the most part) also.

We sailed out of San Juan on the Serenade (St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados route). Weather was gorgeous....seas were nice too - a little rocky on the last night. Captain explained there was one area where the currents were rougher and different than the other areas in between the islands...but was not much and lasted one evening.

Now the Gulf of Mexico can get kind rocky in the winter time.... especially if a front is working its way across. But in my experience was not that bad.
