jerseybelles88 Posted July 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Anyone know the difference between the America's Cup Regatta and the 12 Metre Challenge in St Martin. Also, has anyone ever booked any excursion with Concierge Blue? They have the 12 Metre Challenge for a little cheaper rate than the cruise ship America's Cup. I am booking this for my 21 year old daughter and myself. Thanks for any advice, Debbie

skiiergirl Posted July 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Gary is right. They are the same. 12 Metre is the company name and America's Cup is the name they use for the shore ex through the cruiselines. Usually they won't let you book directly if you are on a ship. You must book through the cruiseline. But that may have changed.
jerseybelles88 Posted July 31, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Thank you Gary and skiieriergirl. Have you been on this excursion? We are on the Mariner on August 19, and are looking forward to a new adventure. quote=gtaylor;11040950]They are the same excursion. gary
gtaylor Posted July 31, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2007 Yes, we've sailed the 12 Metre's, and had a wonderful (if somewhat unique) time. Highly recommended! Audio here. gary
celebrity Posted August 1, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2007 We did this excursion last week & loved it! I was the captain of True North & we won!! A speed boat pulls alongside the boat & snaps a photo that you can purchase afterwards at their gift shop. The photo is so awesome that I forked over $30. So glad we finally had the opportunity. skiiergirl Posted August 1, 2007 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2007 Yes, we have done it. I think we have done it every year for the last 4 years. Yes, the picture is usually great and worth the $. Also, they have lots of t-shirts, hats, belts, etc. for sale in the shop. After the excursion they will take you to the shop for free rum punch and to see the photo and other souvenirs available for purchase. Also, they put your bags down underneath while you are sailing. Afterwards you can take pix if you want. I would recommend taking a waterproof camera that you wouldn't care if it got wet (or lost) and keep it in your pocket to have it handy when it is pix time. Have a good time.
