capilanno suspension bridge

Recommended Posts

How cool is this? Is it fairly easy to get to from where the mercury docks. We will be there Sat Oct 27th, if that makes any difference. First cruise, so not sure about getting off the ship and heading to parts unknown. I would rather do it on our own rather than an excoursion trip booked via the ship.

TIA ;)

Tia - you will dock at Canada Place - walk out of the terminal and turn left - you will see what looks like an old train station - red brick etc - this is waterfront station - go inside and head for the sea bus - pay your fare - one zone only on Saturday so it's $2.25 per person - when you get off across the water in North Vancouver at Lonsdale Quay - you will see a bus terminal - look for the Grouse Mt bus - get on it - your Sea Bus ticket is your transfer - tell the driver you want the Suspension Bridge and he/she will let you off at the proper stop.

Hope this helps

It actually doesn't take long to get there but it really all depends on the public transport. Check the translink site that Urban trekker has put up and you can search the timetable. If you miss the seabus you may have to wait 30 minutes for the next one.

Capilano is not a full day thing, maybe 2 hours. You can also continue up the mountain on the bus and go to Grouse Mountain. There is plenty to see in one day in Vancouver using their wonderful transport system.

But if you use the public transport and the Seabus you will want to spend time at the Londsdale Key. Shops and eats on the dock for seabus on the North Van side. Your trip will take some time.

OCT 27th.!!!!??? Weather could be iffy also . It likes to rain and get cool and miserable around Halloween out here :)

Also, is the bridge a full day thing, or would we have time to cruise (by foot) around? And see some other sights?

If you decide to take public transit to see other things, it might be a good idea to buy an All-Day Pass for $8. You can get on and off the entire transit system using the pass without worrying about transfers (you're allowed 90 minutes to transfer on the same ticket).
