Who can tell me about Triumph?

We just switched our booking from RCCL to Carnival Triumph. Any information would be really helpful! Is there a sports court on the ship? Also what is the water slide like? We will be sailing over February school vacation week. What makes this ship special? Thanks!

My family loves the Triumph! There's a very friendly crew. You may have a very busy week with lots of kids onboard. The ship has Club O2, which is popular. The kids have their own disco. There's also Camp Carnival with lots of activities for both younger and older kids. My dd loved the fun time she had in the camp with other teens.

The piano bar is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. We had Mark on our trip. I'm not sure who will be on it for your cruise.

I'm not sure if there's a sports court, but I seem to remember a half court. There is a putt putt golf area, too. The kids have ping pong and other activities in their area.

The Triumph isn't as flashy as the other ships, but I still think she's a beautiful ship!

They have a good product for the money.

We are also sailing in February, the 2nd. When are you? Lots of good reviews really recently, a couple of months ago, not as great. Look at them, and let me just add this. Last year, I booked the Victory and then right after, there seemed like nothing but bad reviews. Good ones came later. We had a great cruise, and I am glad I didnt listen to the bad reviews and that we went.

have you checked out the member reviews yet? i think i read dozens of them before my triumph cruise. really helped me not to miss things i may have missed without doing so much reading! she's a great ship, rooms are sufficient with plenty of storage and really well laid out. we were inside with 4 people and i really didn't feel too crowded.

food was great! we were in paris dining room with a window table, not able to see the entire dining room, but we loved our quiet location. we did most meals in the dining room or room service. we did not enjoy the lido buffets at all, mainly because of the heat and wait times. lines moved slowly! tables were sometimes hard to find.

we would occasioanlly take lido food to the promenade and just hang out there, it became our favorite spot to just watch the water go by. better even with some ruben sandwiches from the deli and hamburgers off the grill!

The cruise director is terrific! hysterically funny and a really nice guy, you'll see him hanging around often just talking to folks.

what itinerary are you going on?

That waterslide is going to be a hit! Do all the carnival ships have that?

They all do....there are some differences (possible height requirements).....because I believe on the Fantasy Class ships the slide dumps back into the pool. Spirit Class the slide is on it's own in the upper aft section of the ship..it empties into it's own water trough.....and Triumph, Destiny and assuming Conquest class...the slide is by the pool but you end in the water trough next to the pool.

We are going on the Eastern route. Chose this ship for the ports of call. I will read the reviews! Glad to hear the food is good. I will have to get familiar with the layout as we have only cruised Royal before this upcoming one.

We cruised the Triumph for the second time in June. We had a great time. We thought the food this time was very good. Our whole group of 17 never had something we didn't like. We were in the London dining room this time, 8:30 seating. I would have preferred the Paris at 8:15, but it was fine. Some people complain about long lines at the buffet, but you just have to figure out when the busiest time is and work around it. With over 2500 people to feed, it does get crowded. We always ate at off times, and we never waited much. The kids all liked the pizza and ice cream available all day! The rooms a decent in size, bigger than the Sovereign of the Seas we were on a while back. The bathrooms are a nice size too. There is plenty of storage space and suitcases fit under the beds, unless you have a huge one. We didn't go around looking for things to complain about, such as light bubls being out, or rust on the railings. None of that matters to us. If you have any specific questions, please ask! Have a great time!

We've been on the Triumph three times -- the last time was the Eastern itinerary in June. The link to my review is below.

Wow! what a great review cruisemom. I have a couple of questions..do you get to pick either the paris or london dining room or is it luck of the draw? Also, is the lido deck buffet the only other option for sit down lunch other than the main dining room? Is the deli a window take out or are there seats too? Is there a specialty coffee place to grab a latte? Also one more question, is the mini golf substantial or just a little putt putt?

Well, I can help you out with the dinning room q. You are usually asked what is your time preference for dinner...early or late? That is about all the control you have over dinner assignments.

The deli is probably around the same area as the lido buffet. We have never gottten anything from the deli, but there are little areas around the buffett that has different types of food, for ex. asian, etc. There is also a hamberger / grilled chicken / hot dog place usually around where the pizza is. Actually, I just got out my carnval brochure, and it shows the deli, which is around the lido buffet, sort of on the opposite side of the asian area, between Lido Pool and the Lido Grand Buffet.

On the Victory (sister shop to Triumph), I would guess the mini gold was about six to eight different "holes' or what ever you call it. It was a nice change as that was the first cruise we were on that had it.

There is a specialty coffee shop, if I remember correctly from the Victory, deck 5, it is between the casino and the video arcade. You can also buy chocolate covered strawberries at the same place! YUMMY!:D
