JackN Posted May 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We are taking the northbound Alaskan cruise on Dawn Princess begining on June 24th. What kind of clothing does one need for events inside the ship. My understanding is two formals nights and the rest are casual. Is the ship warm inside? By that I mean on warm weather cruises I usually wear a short sleeve shirt of some kind and maybe a sport coat. Do you need long sleeve shirts for the Alaskan cruises because of the lower tempretures??? CruiseIsGood Posted May 16, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2004 Carnival was very warm inside, unless you passed by someone opening a door. I didn't wear long sleeves or a sweater. I'd imagine Princess would be too.
cowtec Posted May 16, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 16, 2004 We were on the Dawn three weeks ago. I had heard that the temperatures in the dining areas were a little chilly, but found them to be very comfortable for sleeveless or short sleeves. We had two formal nights in our 12 days onboard - people came to the dining room in a wide variety of "casual" clothes the other nights, ranging from dresses and sportshirts/Dockers to very casual. Of course, this was a Panama Canal itinerary, so I don't know if the temperatures will change with the colder weather. Have a great trip - you'll love the Dawn!!! zebra Posted May 16, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2004 Just off the Diamond Princess yesterday - definitely warm inside. Short sleeves were worn by most people - a light jacket will do. I had brought many long sleeved outfits and found them too warm for inside. Now outside is a different matter - although we wore short sleeves in Juneau!
