jackdiamond Posted August 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2007 After reading some of the observations of others with regard to this hotel, I still have a few questions as follows: 1. Does the hotel provide towels for the $15.00, day pass patrons? 2. Is the pool heated in February? 3. What is the approximate size of the pool? 4. Are both straight chairs and lounges provided? Thank you, Jack Diamond

bguppies Posted August 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2007 I could of swore the pool was heated last time I was there. If it was on February 1st this year, they had it set at around 70 degrees, like the outdoor temperature. :D But I had to try it. Bill

Scooter-n-GB Posted August 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted August 8, 2007 No net that I noticed. DW and I were there in late January this year. Ocean temp was 73, pool was 76. Both, IMO, very swimmable.
scubagirrl Posted August 9, 2007 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2007 Can anyone tell me if the beach at the British Colonial Hilton is netted? No, beaches don't need to be netted .. sharks are rarely found near the beaches in the daytime. BCH beach is in the harbor. I've never heard of a shark sighting in the harbour. Occasionally, a nurse shark or reef shark is spotted along Cabbage Beach, but it's a rarity. Lifeguards call for people to get out of the water til it swims by.. then back to normal. They don't normally attack humans.. but sometimes mistake humans for food in the early morning or late evenings when the waters are dark. You'll see some beaches with float lines, these are to keep the jet ski's an boats from coming near the swimmer.

Snorkel2Much Posted August 17, 2007 #11 Share Posted August 17, 2007 Is this hotel walkable from the port?? Very walkable, it's next to that famous  Nassau landmark "Senor Frogs". Here's a view from Senor Frog's patio.

I wasn't actually worried about sharks, just curious (as I have not yet visited the Bahamas) if netting is common practice at the resort hotels. I should have phrased my question better.
