Taxi - Lahaina to Kaanapali

Hello - we dock in Lahaina and 8 of us are going to Kaanapali to zipline. Does anyone know if there are cabs available at both places? Since the zipline is 4 & 1/2 hours, we didn't necessarily want to rent a car. Thanks for any info.

As I understand there is a shuttle that goes back and forth from the two places and you pick it up at the theatre which is right downtown. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Aloha,

The office for the zipline is up on Hwy 30 near Kaanapali. If that is where you are suppose to go, it is probably best to take a cab(about $10-&15 one way). They can call one for you to return if there are none there. You can also walk down to Kaanapali beach, mall, hotels after if you want(about a 1/2 mile or less) for a good time. From there, you can take the trolley/bus back to Lahaina for $1 each.

Have fun!

You'll probably want the cab or trolley to drop you off at Whaler's Village at Kaanapali beach. It has great access to the beach and also great shopping and restaurants. By the way, there is a stand where you can rent beach umbrellas and chairs right at the beach at Whaler's Village. We had a great afternoon ... even if I did need to see the ship's doctor after spraining a wrist being wiped out by a wave. Simple rule ... don't turn your back to the waves!!!!!

I believe the trolley stop is on the main street near the pier in Lahaina (I think near the theater). Just ask ... someone will give you directions. We just grabbed a cab at the pier, got the cell phone number of the driver, and called her when we wanted her to come back and pick us up. It was very convenient ... but more expensive than the trolley.

Thanks again - if anyone has done the Carnival Spirit - is this a tender port and do you think we can get off the ship docked at 9:00 and get to Kaanapali by 11:00 a.m. for the excursion via the cab? thank you.

Lahaina is a tender port but I don't think you should have any problem getting there by 11... especially if you take a taxi. It looks like maybe 4 miles.

We are going to try the same thing Sept 23 when we arrive on the Pacific Princess. Our ship arrives at 8am and we should have plenty of time to take the trolley if we want. We are wanting to go snorkeling at Black Rock also, and the only way we could do both is book the later zip tour at 12noon, get a taxi to take us straight to Black Rock... would have to shower off at the beach before the zipline too... our ship leaves at 6pm.
