coofie Posted August 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2007 I received this response from the Belize Tourism Board when asking about beaches: __________________ Warm Greetings from Belize!!! The closest place for you to visit would be Old Belize. About 20 minutes away, it doesn't get too crowded and they have a nice little restaurant and beach chairs where you can relax. You can visit their website to get an overview of their place; http://www.oldbelize.com. To get to Old Belize there are cabs at the Tourism Village which can take you. Should you have additional questions, feel free to contact me anytime. Do have a pleasant afternoon. Kind Regards, Karina Cunil Marketing Officer Marketing & Public Relations Dept. cusyl Posted August 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2007 Looks like "Old Belize" is a new tourist beach attraction that have made. I was in Belize first about 25 years ago and we tendered in, there was really nothing, not even gift shops. We were there again a few years ago and tendered in on a big commercial tender to a tourist shopping area which was fenced in from the rest of the town.
