coveman Posted August 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2004 Heard that the casino on the Glory has converted over to using tokens vice real money in the slot machines, seems this would be a pain. Any one know which system they are using?

cruztime Posted August 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2004 The Glory does have nickel machines. My wife played them while I played Let It Ride. As far as tokens. I believe only the arcade uses them.
Mom4Nana2 Posted August 24, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2004 dream2much, what can you tell me about Glory Eastern? We fianally have proof that we are going. I've found us on the Carnival site, printed fun pass, bought over the door holder for "stuff". I've been checking the things to do at the ports. We are 50+ and our first cruise. Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

cruztime Posted August 24, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 24, 2004 Mom4Nana2, Hi, We've been on the Eastern swing several times. On St Thomas, there is sightseeing galore. Just grab a cab and negotiate a price. My sister-in-law and hubby paid $20 each for a complete island tour with several stops along the way. I also understand that Godfrey tours is very good as well and you can book him via the net yourself. Just do a search on Godfrey tours and you should be able to find it. There are great beaches if that's your thing (Meagans Bay, Saphire Beach etc). You can also go to St John for the day via a ferry from Red Hook. You can also get the ferry from Charlotte Amalie. Any cab will take you to Red Hook for a few dollars each. All cab fares from point A to point B on St Thomas are regulated. We like to charter a sailboat for the day. For $110 each you sail on a privately owned sailboat to coves that the ships don't take people to. It includes open bar, hot lunch and all snorkel gear etc. You can snorkel, swim, go beachcombing or just lay around and enjoy the day. In St Marten, I recommend the Americas Cup Challenge and Orient Beach. The shopping in St Marten is also better than that in St Thomas. Trust me, my wife is a professional at that and she always gets the best prices in St Marten. You can also get an island tour from most cabbies for $20 each. I also understand that the Golden Eagle catamaran is very nice as well. You might want to go to the excursion boards for more info. Welcome aboard and have a great cruise. BADBUOY Posted August 24, 2004 #10 Share Posted August 24, 2004 Does the Glory have a casino singer or band? I've read where on of the newer Carnival ships had a singer in the casino itself. BD.
GroupCruiser Posted August 24, 2004 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2004 The Casinos aren't that big. The singer is usually right outside, by the bar, along the Promenade.
