Liberty of the Seas 8/11 review (as it happens!!!!)

Recommended Posts

Thanks so much for continuing to post. I really look forward to reliving my experience through you. :) I'm so sorry you didn't like Portofino - sounds like a BAD experience! (Thankfully, our experience was wonderful and much better than Chops. Go figure?!) Maybe tomorrow night will be better for you - my fingers are crossed!

Happy cruising!

Monkey10,

Can you PLEASE find out if "Julian" Querico is working on board in the Concierge Lounge or in the Diamond Lounge? If he's not there now, will you PLEASE ask if he is expected on board any time soon - as in WHEN?

I think my life depends on this information.

HELP!!!!!!!!! My life is in your hands.

Gina

Mommabean- not sure who the dude in your avatar is but if I were him I would be jealous of Julian!!!

Don't want to start a rumor but did you hear he was moving to the Liberty?? You will not get me out of the lounge for dinner if he is there. :D Julian was a highlight on the Enchantment, that's for sure.

Wow, you have increased my anticipation x 10!! I cannot wait to hear about this murder mystery. Do you have to make reservations for it? Does it cost anything? Do tell!

Thanks for taking us along with you!

Do tell, What day & time of the cruise is the mystery dinner offered. Seems it was the first day on the Freedom and we were way to busy but on the Liberty we planned on doing it. Worth the $? Also, How many people were involved?

I don't think you are starting the rumor. It has already been started. That's why I'm working to find out the truth. The last rumor was that he took a longer vacation so that he could return to Enchantment for one more contract before his move. And....tomorrow was his expected return date. Hopefully we will all know something soon. I would guess that Julian will also be the highlight of Liberty OS, too. It's just not anywhere near as easy for me to get away for a 7 night cruise as it is for one of these shorter last minute cruises - not for another year until the baby DD is off to college. Then, a cruise on Liberty OS may be in order. Let's just hope they have Julian in the diamond lounge for those long time cruisers who can really appreciate him. Suite guests aren't as likely to get it if they aren't repeat cruisers, too. :)

No one came by for 10 minutes after we were seated. The waiter did not introduce himself. He didn’t tell us the soup of the day, asked our order before asking about drinks, and was VERY slow. Then we sat with dirty dishes in front of us forever!

The table next to us had to flag down a waiter twice to get their dessert and coffee.

Oh, and it was an accident, but I got a nice heaping helping of water down the back of my dress!

I would eat every night in Chops, if not for the fee. I would not do Portofinos again.

We went to Portofino's on the last night of the cruise last month. It was on Liberty of the Seas too. The service was very slow for us too. Although, it was probably because there was a table of 15 in the front that our waiter was waiting on. We had to ask for our bread dip to be refilled and it was only refilled once. Could have been refilled once more. The head lady had to start waiting on us. (She has bright red lipstick) We didn't get great service either but I guess it might depend on the time you come or how many tables there are. Our dinner was at 6 PM and there were some kids in the back of the resturaunt. We originally were sat in the back by the window but there was a group of kids. They said they don't normally allow the kids in there but they had no where to go & it was early so they were allowed in.

I never tried Chops before because I'm not one for meat.

I did Portofino's last year on Freedom of the Seas and had better service then. Actually, the waiter who waited on us last year was there. (It was the big tall guy that worked in the back.) We were waited on by a girl in the front who was from Venezuela I think.

Well, Have a safe trip home. ;)

Its been a good cruise...

Just left Labadee today. Did the zipline - that was pretty cool! Didn't last nearly long enough, but standing on the plaform is enough to make anyone freak out! I was the last to go, so I got to experience everyone else's anticipation as well as my own!

In Labadee, go to Dragon's Breath or the far beach - don't know what i is called, but it is way quiet. Unless you like the zoo!

Won $800 in the casino the first night, $300 the second night, and lost today!!!! Don't think I'm going back.

I got to meet Rosebud1g at the Meet and Mingle. Wish we would've stayed longer. We decided to go down to the Slot Tournament and on the way I realized that I lost my Seapass card. Had to wait in line at Guest Services.... Got to the casino just in time to hear people having a blast! And I wasn't part of it!!!!

So, I'm SO sorry for not posting sooner. I will try to be better.

Best piece of advice - you can order anything on the dinner menu for room service between 7 and 9! Changed tables to a 2-top the second night, but had a BAD case of heartburn (not the food, but the imbibing I suppose) and had to go back to the cabin. NOT NORO!!!!! Better today!

Okay, so it's nearly time for dinner. More tomorrow!

Oh yes, the pool is EMPTY when the boat is in port. Spent 45 minutes at the pool with NO problem with chair hogs!!!!

Hope you have fun on your vaca!!!!!!

In the statement above it says that you can order anything being served in the dining room for room service.... Is it safe to assume that this also includes deserts? I plan on going to the Speciality restaraunts a few times as well as may stop at Johnny Rockets for a dinner one night. We will probably at most be in the dining room 2-3 nights, however I absolutely LOVE RCI's key lime pie and would like to order it for room service. Does anyone know if they include the same deserts served in the dining room for room service?

Thanks!!

As most of you know, the last day is SO hectic, trying to get everything done, packing, etc.

I will be posting more about yesterday and today later on this afternoon.

Needless to say, it was a GREAT vacation!

HAWKFISH:

I didn't want to divulge my address while on the cruise, lest people come knocking on my door saying they saw m post and wanted to say hi.

We were in cabin 9344 same as the one you will be sailing on!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, talk to you later all!!!!!

HI monkey10

nice meeting you on the ship!!!

we stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay and got a different view of the ship. It was alot farther away but none of those buildings were in the way.

talk to you soon.

Rose

Rose- How did you like the Marriott Biscayne Bay. I'm staying there two nights pre-cruise and one night post-cruise? I heard the rooms are small which doesn't matter to me, I just sleep there.
