bcohtofl Posted August 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2007 This will be our first cruise on Holland. I was wondering if their pools and Hot tubs are salt water? We will be on the Westerdam on Oct 28. I know Princess is fresh water on their pools. Also what does it cost to use Hydro pool? On Celebrity the Hydro pool is free. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help Since no one else is answering: it is my understanding that both pools are the filled from the same potable water supply used for drinking/cooking/etc on the ship, and sometimes that is desalinated sea water and sometimes it is shore-bought water. Don't know the cost of the hydro pool, sorry.
FRANKIEDNYC Posted August 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2007 :) I Believe All Hal Ships Are The Same With The Midships Pool Under The Retractable Roof Being Fresh Water And The Aft Pool Salt Water
bruceh4 Posted August 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2007 The pool under the dome on the lido deck is fresh water. As for the aft pool I cannot give a definitive answer. The few times that I have used the aft pool I never have tasted any salt water and my impression is that it is also fresh water. Because salt water is so corrosive to metal I would think that the ship would tend to use fresh water. As for the hydro pool there is a charge but I dont know how much. Duet Posted August 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2007 We were on the Noordam in July. The hydro pool and thermal suite came as a package. For the week it was $125.00/person or $250.00 for my DH and me. We enjoyed it, very relaxing, but we questioned whether it was really worth the money. bcohtofl Posted August 12, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted August 12, 2007 Thank you all for the replies. I had read about the charge for the Sauna suites, not really interested in them was more interested in Hydropool. So if you have to do both probably wont spend the money on it. We already splurged for a Cabana on HMC. Thanks Again
