Galveston Car Rentals

Can anyone tell me how close the car rental agencies are to the cruise port? We are staying overnight in Houston, and want to drop off the vehicle in Galveston. I found a decent rate at Avis but I can't seem to tell how far away it is. Help!

Enterprise and Hertz are the only 2 companies that have locations in galveston. The other companies have locations in houston area but you will have to take a taxi from there to the port which can be pricey.

I have been doing some research into this also over on the Princess forum, as we need to get down to Galveston from IAH in Houston. I have called all the major car rental places and Enterprise seemed to be the only one near the port, and in addition, they will drop you at the port in Galveston when you turn in the car, and pick you up there so you can get a car. None of the other agencies seemed to have anything like that service.
