I was looking for reviews on this shore excursion offered for NCL. I found a couple of postings on trip advisor etc. that said this property was closed on July 15th 2007 until further notice for renovations. Does anyone know anything about this? I will be calling NCL to follow up. Let me know what you find out.

  • 2 weeks later...

My dh and I were huge fans of Spanish Bay Reef. We had reservations for 2 weeks arriving July 30 and obviously had to change resorts.

I've emailed other "regulars" from the resorts as well as kept in touch with the manager and it doesn't sound good.

It seems that the old resort may become condos. Or a small boutique hotel... The location doesn't seem a great idea for either. It's located directly on a Reef, there is no beach. The majority of folks who stayed there were divers and return guests...

I doubt a cruise shipper will ever go there again...
