ParrotRob Posted August 22, 2007 #76 Share Posted August 22, 2007 The USS A. Lincoln. You were deployed on that ship? I spent some time on her, yes, on two different occasions under Captain Dupouy.
BlueJacketsFan1 Posted August 22, 2007 #77 Share Posted August 22, 2007 Is a few minutes out of your life just to much to ask to make everyones cruise a little saver in the event of an emergency. You know while the rest of us are standing around waiting for you to show up for the drill. Thanks for making the rest of us wait for you.
Don Haynes Posted August 22, 2007 #78 Share Posted August 22, 2007 A good way to punish those who don't do the muster drill is to force them to wear the lifesavers for all of the next day. It will be like a sign taped to the back of their shirts saying kick me. Besides those lifesavers are a bit bigger than you are used to wearing. Having to wear a lifesaver with a suit or tux. Everyone in the dining room will laugh at them.... The Captain is judge and jury on a cruise ship at sea. There are no civil rights at sea. MaryZ Posted August 22, 2007 #79 Share Posted August 22, 2007 My DW absolutely hates muster drill. I think its fun. I like getting to my muster station early & waiting with my compatriots. I get to know the crew that watch over my life boat & see them interact with their superiors. Sure lining up is a pain, but I crack jokes with my line mates & we all talk about the people that show up at the last minute that they find under the beds. If you don't want to get caught in the rush back to cabins on the staircases, have a cocktail or play some slots in the casino. LOL, we hang out and talk too. Yeah the lifesavers are a bit overbearing to have to wear, but you'll appreciate having it should you ever need it. yes I know they are lifejackets. We just refer to them as that because our oldest when he was 2 yrs old called them that on our own boat. "mama, lifesaver peeze" It was so cute...lol
