over night accomodations in Fort Lauderdale???

Hi all! We are considering a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale for Spring Vacation. We would arrive a day early and need a reasonable hotel that is near the airport. Any suggestions? Also, what is the best way to get to the port from the airport or hotel? Thanks for all your help!

There is a Comfort Suites Airport/ Cruise Port close to the pier. They have a shuttle that will take you to the ship. There are lots of hotels in the area from extra cheap to very expensive.

We stayed at the LaQuinta in Hollywood, FL, last year and it was fine. This year we're trying the Hampton Inn in Plantation, FL. Both have shuttles from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the port. Both include a continental breakfast and are reasonably priced.

We got the Renaissance near the pier for $113 in April on Hotwire. Nice hotel and very close to the pier but...no shuttles.
