We can't make up our minds!

Hello all,

My wife an I are going on Radiance to Hawaii next month and we can not make up our minds on:

Pacific whale foundation, Molokini-Lanai Snorkel Cruise

my life loves the Ideal of seeing dolphins and Lana with Pacific

or

Trilogy, DISCOVER MOLOKINI

I love the sailing option on Trilogy, and having no more then 55 people onboard. I hear PWF can have over 100 people onboard

We would book both our self's, because I don’t know how RCCL uses.

So if any one has been on either one of these trips Please Help!

Thanks

I have taken PWF many times and always been VERY happy with them. I've never had anywhere near 100 people on any of the PWF trips I've taken. In fact, I don't think I've ever had more than 50 on any I've ever taken with them. Did you call them and ask the number of people on the tour you're looking at?

They are a class organization. Give them a call and talk to them - I know they will honestly answer any questions you have.

Have fun. btw - I think you picked a great ship to sail. If I were to ever cruise to Hawaii again, that is the ship I'd take!

Oh - and whichever one you decide upon, please post your experience when you return. Helps us all make better decisions on our trips!

My husband and I did the Molokini Crater Snorkel and the Turtle Arches with Pacific Whale Foundation, and had a great time. They were very eager to make sure everyone was happy. They served lunch and had an open bar also. I was a little disappointed with the snorkeling at Molokini Crater only because we saw only a few different types of fish. I can't say enough about the turtle arches though. We were able to swim right next to the big sea turtles and it was amazing. There were lots of them and they were not afraid to swim right next to you. This was my favorite part of the whole cruise. Not something you can see everywhere, especially since they are an endangered species. Enjoy.

No - just sailed past it on the Island Princess. Saw a ton of dolphins from the ship! Of course, I saw dolphins every time I looked off the balcony. I've been on 39 cruises and never seen a dolphin when I looked off the balcony. This time, I'd walk out on the balcony, look down, and can't tell you one time that I didn't see a dolphin when we were in the islands! It was amazing!!!!!

But, when we were in the Maui channel, we saw more than any other area - and when sailing past Lanai, there were more than in any other are around Maui.

When we took the ferry to Lanai from Lahaina, we were escorted by huge pods of spinner dolphins playing, jumping, dancing, and so forth. What a sight!

We've never done a snorkel excursion around Lanai, but think it would be an excellent choice and may do one in the future. The thing is that the Lanai trips are usually significantly longer than the Molokini ones. We have to consider how much "up" time we have on any given good day. I'd really hate for one or both of us to "burn out" in the middle of a 7 hour sail and snorkel around Lanai.

Lanai itself isn't the attraction--I agree that it is the trip to and from! (But then I think Bill Gates booked the entire ISLAND for his honeymoon...!) PWF is such a class act, but our Trilogy experience was also excellent...

In other words, it really is hard to make a mistake in Hawaii (except for the Fern Grotto....!)

Enjoy!!:) :)
