Cruise cards

At disembarkation, your Cruise Card will be collected for security reasons.

 

I was just reading the P&O website.... Is this new?

We got off the Sun in July and even though I expected them to take our cards (and we had them ready) they didn't. We still have them.

This was meant to happen when i traveled with Carnival in 2005... But i "forgot" to hand mine in... nothing happened, i just said i lost it.

We kept our in February .... my son didn't take his off for a day, kept it on his lanyard around his neck ...... (he had very sever withdrawl symptoms!!!)

When we got off the Sun in August we were told we were allowed to keep the cruise cards so we did.

I wonder what would happen if you tried to use your old cruise card on a subsequent cruise? :)

We thought we might try that as we just grabbed the lanyard with the old card still attached. Chickened out.

 

Card is supposed to be a momento of your cruise. The last thing you do when getting off the ship is "swipe" it in the machine and they say see ya later. We still kept ours a month ago.

Yes - we disembarked the Star last Saturday, and they said "ping" yourself out one last time, and keep the card as a memento.

I wonder what would happen if you tried to use your old cruise card on a subsequent cruise? :)

 

You have to insert it in the machine and look at the camera on boarding to have your photo encoded onto it - and with a photo already on it, the machine would probably reject it at that point and they'd be on to you.
