We have done this before and plan to do it again however you will find out that you can buy the same wines at any stateside wine shop for much much less than what HAL charges. You generally pay around $25 to $30 for each bottle onboard and you can usually buy it for around $10 to $12 off ship. If you buy it off ship and take it to the dining room you end up paying the corkage fee of $18 so you're better off to buy it onboard if you prefer wine.

Available on all HAL ships.

If you sail out of Florida wait until you have left port and are at sea otherwise you will be charged state sales tax (7%).

Can sign up at any bar or in the dining room. Can get bottle in the bar and then have them recork it and save it for the next night if you wish....

I didn't know about the 7% tax in FL on the ship, I know FL taxes everything they can, we just came back from Cocoa Beach.

Will we still have to pay that tax if we leave port at 5PM, Tampa our next stop is the next morning in Key West, FL. Can we order it at dinner, "at sea" with no tax?

Thanks for the info we have late dining so we should be more than 3 miles out.

FYI, in NH we DO NOT have sales tax OR an income tax, but you don't want to hear about our property taxes. LOL, they got you one way or the other.
