Norfolk Brit Posted August 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2007 On our recent cruise, we were unable to tender into Rhodes. Fine by me, Captain knows best etc. However, we subsequently ran into a couple of armchair 'experts'. One alleged that QE2 could get into Rhodes, but Cunard did not do so because of the costs involved (I ignored this one, as presumably it would take 5 seconds to check, and Cunard would have been found out long ago). The second said that the tenders only manage to get ashore 1 in 6 times. Has anyone ever managed to actually set foot on the place?
msk68 Posted August 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2007 We've been to Rhodes but not on a Cunard ship. We were on a '3 Day Mediterranean Cruise' on the Perla (sister ship to the one that sank earlier this year). It was the last part of a tour following St Paul's second missionary journey through Greece. Next to Patmos, it was my most favorite stop. I loved all the Crusade influence and the linens. I loaded up on linens in Rhodes and they are the best I've ever used. Beautifully embroidered as well.
