upgrading to a balcony post payment

Hi!

I purchased an outside cabin for an October RCCL cruise. I got it a the resident rate which was awesome. I noticed now that the balcony cabins still available are $150 above the current outside cabin rate. If I call RCCL to upgrade to a balcony, will I have to pay the difference between the Balcony and the outside at this time ($150pp /$300 total) or will I have to pay the difference between what I paid and what the balcony is now (which would be about $800 total)??

Thanks for all of your help!

I would think it would be at the current rate......that is what it is going for now....

I wanted the same thing. The price difference between a balcony and a junior suite now is only 50 dollars. So I phone RCCL to ask about upgrading. They wanted the difference between what I paid and the current prices - which mean I would loose all my early booking discounts and have to pay 800 dolars per person to change! I booked over 1 year in advance and the prices have rocketed since then.

Its just a toll free phone call. Call RCCL directly to get a straight answer. If you aren't happy about the response, its just five minutes of your time, you aren't locked in; its just a question after all.

Thanks for your answers and one suggestion!

Wow, these boards would be very very short if everyone called RCCL before posting :)

I have a sad feeling Taf may be correct :( I'll try sometime this week any way with RCCL, doesn't hurt to ask huh?

Thanks Again!
