How's Empress of the Sea's 9/4-first time on RCCL too!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am sailng in the Empress of the Sea's to Bermuda on 9/4. For anyone who's been on this ship recently how is it? I heard it has been recently refurbished. I've been on 7 Princess Cruises and 2 Celebrity. How does this compare?

Any helpful hints would be great!!!

Thanks,

Lisa - NJ;)

Sailing on the Empress was our first cruise, so I have nothing to compare it against.

Sailed 7/18/04 from Bayonne to Bermuda.

Embarkation and Parking at Bayonne were fine. Arrived at apx 12:30 PM - got on board at about 1:30 PM and our room was ready with luggage arriving shortly thereafter.

We were on deck 3 outside cabin with a window. Very glad we booked a cabin with a window. The room was adequate for my husband and 8 yr old son. The room attendants were always on top of things.

Food and service in all of the dining areas was good, plentiful and food was served hot.

The ship's public areas were clean. The Staff was informative and helpful.

Entertainment - there is a little of something for everybody.

Join in on the fun!

And in my humble opinion (IMHO)

Biggest ripoff - Casino slot machines, adult soda cards.

Best buys on Ship - Liquor and Cigarettes

Best Beach - Horseshoe Bay

Best tips I received on this website as to what extra to bring:

A clear over the door shoe bag - it's not only for shoes, but a great catch-all holder for small items.

An extension cord - for all those electronic gadgets- gameboys, battery rechargers, etc.

Have Fun
